Use AshBid with AI assistants
Ask ChatGPT, Claude or another assistant what a cigar really sells for on CigarBid, and it can look up AshBid’s recorded prices live: averages, record lows and highs, recent sales, lots closing now and every pack size.
Your connector address
The connector comes with a free AshBid account. Sign up, then copy your personal connector address from this page or your account page.
- Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, then paste the address.
- ChatGPT: add a custom connector (MCP) in its connector or developer settings, then paste the address.
- Other apps that speak MCP over HTTP (Streamable HTTP) work the same way.
Your assistant sees what you’d see on AshBid with your account. Requests are rate limited to keep it fast for everyone.
What an assistant can look up
- Search CigarBid items
- Find cigars, samplers, accessories or pipe items AshBid tracks, by name or brand (e.g. "Padron 1964 Maduro", "xikar lighter"). Returns each item with its pack size, number of recorded sales, usual closing price, price per cigar and live lots, plus the slug for item_prices.
- Prices for one item
- What one item sells for on CigarBid: average close, record low and high with dates, recent sales, lots live now with their current bids, and the same item in every other pack size (compared per cigar) and other sizes of its line.
- Prices for a brand
- A brand on CigarBid: number of items, sales recorded, average close, lowest and highest sale, live lots, and its most-sold items.
- Good prices closing soon
- Live CigarBid lots closing within the next 30 minutes at a good price: cigars under a price per cigar (default $2), and accessories well under what they usually sell for. Bids can still climb before the close.
- Recent final prices
- The newest CigarBid lots that sold, with final prices and links.
Things to ask
- “What does a box of Padrón 1964 Maduro usually go for on CigarBid?”
- “Is $48 a good bid for this lot?” (paste the CigarBid link)
- “Which pack size of Diesel Unholy Cocktail is cheapest per cigar?”
- “Any good cigars under $2 a stick closing in the next half hour?”
- “How have Oliva prices been lately?”
For assistants that browse
Every brand and item page has a plain Markdown copy: add .md in place of the last slash (for example https://ashbid.com/brands.md). A guide to the site for AI tools is at /llms.txt.
AshBid is an independent price tracker. It sells nothing and isn’t affiliated with CigarBid.
